M&B: Warband - Best Game of Thrones Mod

by Silver, Monday - August 06, 2018 08:18

The best Game of Thrones game we are likely to get is a Mount & Blade: Warband mod according to Gamecrate.

...

The sheer size and scope of A World of Ice and Fire is impressive on its own, but for a fan-based mod what’s really impressive is how dedicated the mod author Produno is to doing justice not just to the subject matter but to the grim, cut-throat tone we all know so well. It’s an attention to detail and difficulty that pays off by making you feel like you’re actively struggling to survive not just in a game, but in Westeros itself.

If you’re interested in diving into the mod yourself, it’s available on its Moddb page and the Steam Workshop.

Mount & Blade: Warband - Morrowind Mod

by Silver, Tuesday - October 25, 2016 13:09

@Avarti Plays The mod known as 'House Wars' has arrived for Mount & Blade: Warband to interesting effect. The mod includes the map of Morrowind and the races of Morrowind.

Welcome to House Wars, a Morrowind themed mod of Mount and Blade: Warband. This is a sort of mod spotlight where I quickly check out House Wars and all it has to offer. This is of particular interest to me considering my interest in Elder Scrolls in general and in particular Morrowind, and I am also a massive fan of M&B so a fusion of the two games is almost a dream come true!

Mount & Blade: Warband - Available on Consoles

by Myrthos, Friday - September 30, 2016 23:37

In case you really wanted to play Mount & Blade: Warband on your PS4 or Xbox One, you now can do just that. A feature video has been made available to show what is there.

Munich, September 30th – The official feature video for Mount & Blade: Warband is released, explaining individual elements of the complex sandbox RPG. The audience follows the life of a simple hunter’s son, his life as a merchant, a highwayman and finally that of a nobleman. He is just one of countless customizable characters, which the player can create, allowing them to experience their own medieval adventure.

In Mount & Blade: Warband six realms wrestle amongst each other for power. Which lord the player gives their favour to is up to them. They can choose to involve themselves with the Sultan’s cavalry in the deserts and oases of the south, the vast steppes of the Khergiten archers, the snow-covered kingdom of Vaegiar, the proud Axeman of the North, the Knights of Swadia, and rebellious Rhodok of the southwest. Whichever realm the player chooses - with enough commitment and the local nobles favour even an adventurer of humble origin can earn his own castle.

Until then, the road is still long: the feature video shows our young hunter who has become a successful trader and must hire mercenaries to defend himself against bandits. Though with an armed force the lure to become an outlaw himself is quite powerful. By the insidious conquest of a castle and the King’s blessing, he can advance into the aristocratic circles. Henceforth his life is shaped by banquets, politics and tournaments. And whilst he protects his farmers from predators, he might even win the heart of an aristocratic lady for himself.

M&B: Warband - How to be a Medieval Con Artist

by Aubrielle, Thursday - June 02, 2016 00:36

RPS's Brendan Caldwell tells the riotous tale of his adventures as a con man in his Mount & Blade: Warband retrospective.

Mount & Blade: Warband is an old game to be writing about. But despite its age and flaws it remains surprisingly popular among fans of medieval jousting and RPG politicking. And with a sequel somewhere on the horizon now is as good a time as any to revisit that world, which is exactly what Brendan has done. Read on, serf!

At dawn I hear the sound of swords from my cell. One of my captors comes in and tells me they will consider my release if I pay them a hefty sum. I spit on his offer. That sound of clashing steel outside tells me everything – the castle is under siege, and I will be free soon enough, whether my captors want it or not. Besides, I would rather rot in this dungeon than give these dogs any of my hidden wealth. I have done terrible things to get all that coin. Terrible things.

And to think it all started with some stolen ale.

Viking Conquest - Review @ Cheatmasters

by Couchpotato, Monday - January 26, 2015 04:23

Cheatmasters Avoiderdragon published the first review for Mount & Blade: Warband – Viking Conquest that I found in the last two months, and they gave the DLC a 7/10.

If its predecessors are any indication, it may be worth waiting for this DLC to get fixed with patches, especially if you’re really into Vikings and all that axe-swinging and plundering action. Fans of Mount & Blade who are already playing with mods may be apprehensive about spending money for this DLC, but the breadth and flavor are what should give them enough reason to decide in getting this.

M&B: Warband - L'Aigle Mod Release Date

by Couchpotato, Monday - December 22, 2014 05:28

So if anyone still plays Mount & Blade: Warband like I do then the following mod should interest you. The mod is called L'Aigle, and is about the 1809 War of the Fifth Coalition.

loading...

The year is Eighteen-Hundred Nine and the Corsican-born Napoleon Bonaparte sits on the throne of the French Empire.Napoleon's reign as ruler of France has been a period of almost perpetual war with some nation or another, and indeed France now finds itself engulfed by bitter fighting in the Iberian Peninsula.

Recognising an opportunity to reclaim land and the status it lost in previous wars, Austria, though it has sent no official declaration of war, launched armies at France's allies in Bavaria, Italy and Poland.

With Napoleon in Paris, command of the French forces in Bavaria has fallen on the shoulders on Marshal Berthier, Napoleon's Chief of Staff.
Meanwhile, an alliance of Spain, Portugal and Britain tries desperately to check the French advance into Portugal and southern Spain.
