ABOUT THIS GAME

Delve into the shifting dungeons on your hunt for the Yithidian orb, but getting it might just be the easy part. Delver is a single player first-person action roguelike dungeon crawler, just like you wished they used to make.

Slay monsters, blast wands, hoard potions, and loot everything.

  • A silky smooth mix of 90s FPS combat with classic RPG mechanics.
  • In these dungeons once you're dead you stay dead. Permadeath means that when you die, you begin each run into the dungeon anew.
  • Tough as nails gameplay will test your skills, no grinding will save you here.
  • A procedural dungeon that will keep you on your toes, no two runs will ever be the same.
  • Delicious chunky pixels!

Easy to pick up gameplay, but difficult to master. The dungeon has been waiting for you.

The Early Access rogue-like Delver got an update:

Update #13 - So Magical!

Sup Delverers. The weather is getting colder, and I'm drinking eggnog which can only mean one thing: it's Delver Update Time. We have been busy with all kinds of fun additions lately, mainly focusing on upping our ranged attack game. Wands have been given some love to differentiate them all, and archers get a whole new revamped arrow physics system that is super accurate, and a whole toolbox of new bows to find.

There's some other fun stuff in there as well, including a boatload of new weapon and armor enchantments, a durability system, and some hidden stuff. Consider it our holiday gift to you, our favorite fans.

Changes

  • New arrow physics system - arrows stick in and can be recovered from walls
  • Arrows shot into mobs have a chance of being dropped on death
  • Arrows have a chance of breaking on hit
  • Bows can be enchanted, damage enchantments follow through with the arrow
  • A whole heap of new bows, differentiated by range. damage, and speed
  • Magic missile wand now lets loose a volley of rapid missile attacks
  • Weapon and armor quality decreases over time when used

Destructoid's Jim Sterling plays the alpha version of Delver, and gives his opinion of the game in this new video.

Delver - Video Preview @ Armchair Arcade

by Couchpotato, Monday - September 16, 2013 00:33

Armchair Arcade has a new video preview for the roguelike minecraft game Delver.

Delver is an Indie game that was recommended to me by a friend and this is the first time I take a look at it. It is basically one of these old text based Rogue like games that has turned into a nice 3D game featuring nice pixellated graphics reminiscent of those found in Minecraft. It is a tough game and I only seem to be able to last a couple of minutes. It works quite intuitively and I am liking this a lot even in its current Alpha state.
