A new story trailer for the game with aerial combat, The Falconeer, has been made available.

Go Airborne with New Story Trailer from The Falconeer – Witness New Aerial Combat and an Opulent Oceanic Open-World

Today, publisher Wired Productions share a new story trailer for airborne ocean-world fantasy RPG The Falconeer. This trailer reveals the Seachantress (voiced by Tegen Hitchens) as the player's main guide throughout the immersive world of the Ursee, sharing some of the world's secrets. Viewers can also catch glimpses of third-person dogfighting gameplay, equipped with devastating ranged weaponry, in-game faction settlements, and the oceanic open-world landscape that players will traverse.

Soaring to release on Xbox One and PC via Steam in 2020, players can expect additional content and updates about The Falconeer's development in the coming months, as independent one man developer Tomas Sala, and publisher Wired Productions work tirelessly to deliver this beautiful oceanic fantasy to the world.

This new trailer for The Falconeer shows short cuts of raw gameplay footage from the game's first chapter where players are matched against pirates sailing fast ships in the sea, as well as agile airships. In addition, the trailer provides a deeper look at the Maw, the unnatural canyon of water that spans the length of the game's world, as well as the three warmongering rival faction settlements, which are vying for the mysterious secrets hidden at the Ursee's unfathomable depths.

The first of these settlements is the Saladmount, a place devoted to harvesting wood-like material from the giant fungal seatrees, which is used as an ultra-light building material. Next is the Shard, home to one of the most important Noble houses in the game, House Borgia, which is a place of sharp, imposing rock features. The third is the Imperial Harbour, the largest city of the Ursee and the Royal seat atop Imperial Peak.

RPGWatch @ Gamescom - The Falconeer Preview

by Myrthos, Thursday - August 29, 2019 13:13

The Falconeer is an airborne ocean-world fantasy RPG, where you can mount a bird and explore an ocean-world. It has been made by one developer and it just looks to become a great game.

Tomas Sala is the sole developer of The Falconeer and he has been working on his game for about 2 years. He once was a Skyrim modder and made, amongst others, Moonpath to Elsewyr and has been in the game industry for some 18 years, worked in larger teams, but burned out on everything, took time off and The Falconeer came out of that.
The Falconeer is an open world air combat game with RPG elements. One of the themes of the game is that you are in the air flying a falcon over the ocean of the great Ursee, where all the secrets in the world are covered below the surface of the see. The world has mysteries that run deep and are there for you to uncover. It also has hidden treasures and ancient relics that can be found under water.
Tomas is currently wrapping up the core mechanics of the game and will start on the story telling part of the game next, so at the moment the game is more of a sandbox open world experience.

"The moment we saw The Falconeer, Tomas' passion and dedication stood out and we knew we wanted to bring it to the Wired family," said Leo Zullo, Managing Director, Wired Productions. "The Falconeer's stunning art style and ambitious design speak volumes about his individual talent as a developer and we're delighted to be supporting The Falconeer to market."

"Building worlds is my passion, creating epic landscapes and hidden stories within... just waiting to be found. I want future Falconeers to fight for the Ursee world I'm creating, to risk everything in breathtaking battles to understand its secrets," said Tomas Sala, the sole developer of The Falconeer. "I'm delighted to have joined forces with Wired Productions, to have secured the future survival of the Ursee and to join a line-up of stunning games with a publisher who understands my vision."

This new partnership reflects Wired's commitment to support creative ideas from truly talented and innovative developers, to help bring their game to market.

All that doesn't really say what type of game it is, but the video is a bit more informative.
